While it’s true that in 2006 Novo Studio started as Graphic Design AND Photography company, the years have shaped Novo Studio into a predominantly photography (and now, video) driven company. Read MoreToday on the blog, new work for the University of Arkansas’s Center for Farms and Food. For this photoshoot, we visited a small family-run, certified organic farm atop a beautiful hill outside of Westfork Arkansas. The farm is simply known as the dH farm and they offer everything from fresh vegetables and flowers, to meats and eggs. Frank, the resident intern at the farm (as well as the rest of the family), took us on a tour of the grounds and introduced us to all the animals including their two dogs, Naomi (pictured above) and Rex, a little floppy-eared brute. Read MoreToday on the blog: Recent work for Pacific Cycle. a division of Dorel Sports. We were recently hired to create some marketing images for a new Schwinn Road/Off-Road bicycle. They told us specifically that they wanted a cyclocross course feel along with mud splattering. We happily obliged by setting up a makeshift course and hiring a cyclist model to ride through all kinds of terrain, especially splish splashy stuff. It was a nice bonus that the night before the shoot, it actually rained so there was plenty of mud to splatter about in. In the end, we came away with some amazing images and very dirty bicycle, which we tried to clean up before returning (but I’m afraid we missed some spots).

For this photoshoot, we payed a visit to the farm at Red Barn in Bentonville, the first official residential community with an operational farm on the property. This model of living is known as an agrihood and Red Barn is the first of its kind in the state of Arkansas. Among its fresh food amenities, Red Barn also boasts beautiful living spaces, indoor/outdoor community gathering spaces and direct access to Bentonville’s nearby mountain biking trails. And of course, residents (and non-residents alike) have the wonderful, year-round, farm-to-table experience of knowing EXACTLY where their produce comes from.
