Brothers Osborne | Arkansas Commercial Photography
It happens every time; I photograph a concert where I am unfamiliar with the music artist and 3 songs in, I’m hooked and I’m saving their songs to my iPhone. The latest instance however, was somewhat of a shock. I knew the Brothers Osborne was going to be a country music concert. The fact that a very large percentage of the concert goers walking in were wearing cowboy hats only solidified the fact. And as music genres go, Country Music admittedly has been the last genre to win me over. In fact, that’s still a work in progress. But these guys? They’re good. Damn good. REALLY damn good. And that has won me over, 3 songs in and counting. (Click to Read More)
Windgate Studio + Design Center Grand Opening | Arkansas Commercial Photo + Video
Last weekend was a crowning achievement for the University of Arkansas’s School of Art. What started out as an idea, turned into a rather large grant (the largest in the history of universities, save athletic programs). And along with that huge grant, came plenty of meetings, lots of plans, the reworking of those plans, even more meetings and the collective support of the faculty and students. And now, a major milestone has been achieved: The Grand Opening of the Windgate Studio + Design Center.

Pintura Festival at Crystal Bridges | Northwest Arkansas Event Photography
We recently had the opportunity to experience Crystal Bridge’s Pintura Festival, cameras in-hand. Of course, carrying around our cameras didn’t leave our hands free to enjoy the delicious looking street corn they were serving. But sometimes as a commercial photographer, those are the breaks. We did however get to witness…(click to read more)
The War on Drugs | Northwest Arkansas Live Music Photography
Today on the blog: More music photography goodness, featuring The War on Drugs and their amazing show a few months back on the lawn of The Momentary. Truth be told, this was another one of those music artists that I’d heard of but not really listened to. And of course just like last time, I found myself listening to them on the drive home. If you’re not familiar with them, here’s an essentials playlist to get you started. Cheers.
Japanese Breakfast | Northwest Arkansas Live Music Photography
Today on the blog: Recent event photography for The Momentary featuring Japanese Breakfast. I (Philip) must confess, I had not heard much about Japanese Breakfast prior to this concert. Needless to say, I was blown away and I spent the car ride home blasting them out my windows. While going through the photos, I also decided to…(click to read more)
21 in 2021 | Arkansas Commercial Photography
Hello and welcome to the last blog post of 2021. Traditionally, we have shared our favorite images from the past year. The Tree House | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography
Today is special day. We are pleased to finally be able to share some images of The Tree House, a new “speak-easy” inspired establishment in Downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. Make your way into the unassuming little house and you feel as if you’ve stepped into someone’s living room. You may also feel as if you’ve stepped back in time, as the decor in the living room (as well as the other rooms) would lead you to believe that’s the case.
Make your way past the hidden door into the kitchen area and you will find yourself in a…(click to read more)

2021 Red Bull Pumptrack Qualifier | Arkansas Cycling Photography

Congrats to all the participants and winners for showing up, riding hard and giving us plenty of opportunities to capture the action, excitement, emotion and friendly atmosphere. Today, we’re sharing a few of the images from the event. Enjoy!
Bike POC NWA | Arkansas Commercial Event Photography
A couple weeks ago, we had the unique opportunity to spend time with two of the world’s great professional cyclists, Rahsaan Bahati and Eliot Jackson. The two riders spent the week hanging out and enjoying our area’s various cycling amenities while also working with the our area’s local chapter of BikePOC and BikeNWA, to promote the process of creating intentional spaces for BIPOC and other marginalized peoples to explore cycling in Northwest Arkansas.
The weeklong series of events included…(click to read more)
Spring BRAKE Feature | Arkansas Enduro Series
It was an inevitable reality that we’d focus at least a few of these posts on our work in the cycling industry. Today, we’re reliving last summer’s Arkansas Enduro Series and hoping that this year’s series will still be able to happen, at least partially. In the meantime, keep up the 6 feet apart social distancing pedaling and shredding.

Northwest Arkansas Young Professional Summit
Back in August we got to do a few headshots for the Northwest Arkansas Young Professionals Summit. The Summit, in it’s 4th year, provides young (and old) professionals with personal, philanthropic and professional tools so they can learn to better serve their community. Here I met Dr. Todd Jenkins or Bowtie Todd. He is the Chair of the NWA Young Professionals Summit and founder and CEO of Bowtie Leadership. Bowtie Todd needed a new headshot and some additional content so during one of the summits break-out sessions we moved some lights around and threw a few bowties. Below are a few images of Bowtie Todd and some attendees of the Summit
Late 19 / Early 20 | Northwest Arkansas Commercial Photography
With the holidaze and all the surrounding hubbub, it’s easy for us to slack on sharing our work at the end of one year and the beginning of another. So today, we’re sharing a few images from late last year and early this year. Here’s hoping your new year is off to a great start. Cheers everyone.

How do you compile a decade’s worth of images and stories into a single blog post? If you ever figure it out, please let me know. In the meantime, this a best attempt at highlighting some of the ongoing clients, fun jobs and unique ingredients that have compiled the last 10 years of Novo Studio.
Enjoy.
